Fix Windows Vista Photo Gallery Yellow Tint Background Problem

Today i was installing windows vista on new computer, and  after i installed everything i noticed problem with windows vista photo gallery.



Its annoying yellow tint background, i remember i had this problem about a year ago and i totally forget how to fix it so i did little research and then i remembers it was something with color management.


Usually if you have CRT monitor you won’t have this problem it happened on LCD monitor.


Also if you have this problem you will noticed this error message on photoshop CS3



the monitor profile “…..” appears to be defective? please rerun your monitor calibration software


So how to fix windows vista photo Gallery Yellow Tint Background Problem?


i found the solution on this  Microsoft Article ID 939395,




  • Click Start Start button , type Color Management in the  Start Search box, and then press ENTER.

  • In the Color Management dialog box, click to select the Use my settings for this device check box.

  • In the Profiles associated with this device list, click the color profile that you want to remove, and then click Remove.

  • Now add this color profile sRGB IEC61966-2.1

  • Click Close to close the Color Management dialog box.

  • Restart the computer.

  • Open an image in Windows Photo Gallery to verify that the issue is resolved.
